Beeswax wraps are the perfect alternative to tin foil and cling film and are a great solution for everyone who wants to reduce their ecological footprint while using less plastic in everyday life.
All our beeswax wraps are made with pure Croatian beeswax, Oeko Tex 100 certified Cotton without traces of harmful chemicals. The cotton is washed first and than coated in beeswax, small amount of organic jojoba oil and natural Dammar resin that is safe for use in storage for food (unlike Pine resin that may cause allergic reaction).
HOW TO USE:
The warmth of your hands gently melts the wax enough to make it malleable and stick together. The beeswax wraps allows the food to breathe and stay fresh. Beeswax wraps can be used directly on food or to cover food containers.
You can use them to wrap your food, lunch or your kid’s snacks for school. You can wrap cheese, bread, muffins, halves of fruits, veggies… Natural beeswax is known for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and because of its water resistance is great choice for keeping food fresh.
CARING FOR YOUR WRAPS:
To clean, simply wash by hand with a cold to lukewarm water (you can use some ecological, mild soap) and allow to air dry before storing. Do not place them on direct sunlight because wax can melt.
Not to be used with raw meats, fish, hot foods, or any heat producing appliances, i.e. microwaves, dishwashers, etc.
There may be a slight, naturally occurring, beeswax smell which will disappear after a few uses.
Naturally occurring creases will develop over time which is perfectly normal.
After time you may feel the need to refresh your wraps: this can be done by placing a wrap flat on to a baking tray and popping into the oven at 90°C (195°F) for approximately 4-5 minutes.
With proper daily use and maintenance, wraps can be of good quality for at least half a year.
All wraps are hand-cut, made in a smoke free home.
